About Me
I’m Susanne Mata, a grant consultant with extensive experience supporting nonprofits, education institutions, and community-based organizations through all stages of the grant lifecycle.
My background includes over 10 years in nonprofit leadership as an in-house grant writer for a large, multi-service organization, followed by more than a decade working within the California Community Colleges system (2009–2022). In those roles, I managed federal and state workforce development and career technical education grants from planning and proposal development through implementation, compliance, and reporting.
Since 2020, I’ve provided grant consulting services to organizations seeking flexible, experienced support. After relocating from California to Florida, I founded First Coast Grant Solutions in February 2024 to help organizations nationwide pursue funding with clarity, confidence, and realistic strategy.
Having worked both inside organizations and as an external consultant, I understand the challenges of limited capacity, competing priorities, and complex grant requirements. My approach is collaborative, practical, and tailored—designed to meet organizations where they are and support meaningful, sustainable funding efforts.
